Where you are

Six directions, all defensible, no way to choose.

Most people who call me could probably build it. What they have is six plausible next moves and no way to know which one is worth the next six months. I have made that call wrong before, which is most of why I am useful at it now.

Someone came in wanting a rebuild. The actual problem was two slow queries, so that is what we fixed.

The first forty-five minutes

An honest read, before either of us commits.

We talk it through and I tell you what I think your idea actually needs. Sometimes that is me. Sometimes it is a team of four, or software that already exists, or waiting six months. I will tell you that even when it costs me the job.

If we go

One person holding the whole product.

The interface, the application, the database, the deploys, the app store submissions. Accounts, payments and other people's data get real attention, which never demos well and is the thing that ends companies. We agree milestones up front so you are never out more than one at a time.

Found a job that had been failing silently at 3am for a month. No alert, no error, nobody had noticed.

Launch, and after

Going live is where the interesting problems start.

Launch is when real people start doing things you did not predict, and something breaks at 3am in a way no test caught. I am around for that part too. A lot of contracts quietly end the week before it.

Where it ends

Yours entirely, and easy to leave.

Every account, domain and repository is in your name from week one, on your card. Documented as we go, so another developer could pick it up in an afternoon. I want you to be able to leave without it being a project.

Handed over a finished build on a Friday. The client shipped their own first change that weekend.

Prior builds

She had built the whole thing, on screen.

Hundreds of screens, designed herself, on nights and weekends. None of it was connected to anything.

So she knew exactly what she wanted. She needed someone to build what goes underneath.

Now real agencies run on it, on the web and on a phone app their staff use in people's homes. She still makes changes herself.

Why hire you when I could just use AI myself?

Go for it. You might get further than you expect. I'm not the person you need, I'm the person you choose, the way you hand off the laundry knowing perfectly well how a washing machine works. Call me at the wall, where the question stops being how and becomes which.

What happens to my product if you disappear?

You own everything from day one and I set it up that way deliberately. Documented, tested, and handed off clean enough that anyone competent could continue it.

How fast, and what does it cost?

Faster and cheaper than an agency, because there is nobody sitting between you and the person writing the code. I cannot give you a real number before the call. Anyone who does is guessing at what you need.
